Medway Urban Parks & Green Space Forum works in partnership with Medway Council and community groups to protect and improve our parks and public green spaces.

Medway’s Green Assets

Medway has more than 200 parks and open green spaces covering 1,900 hectares. These include 16 parks, 37 countryside sites, 21 Recreation Grounds, 72 play areas, 24 play areas with facilities for disabled children, 2 Skate Parks, 7 Multi-use games areas and 28  allotment  sites. In addition there are Capstone and Riverside Country Parks, and Ranscombe Farm Reserve.

WHAT WE DO...

We actively:

  • Encourage and assist with the formation of local ‘Friends’ groups by providing an Information Resource Pack
  • Monitor any threats of commercial development
  • Promote green spaces

The Forum represents a wide range of interests including Conservation, Community, Sport and Heritage

WHAT YOU CAN DO...

Get involved or build your
own
Community Group

It is essential that more of our community show an interest in their local area by joining or forming local groups. Perhaps you have a different interest to those shown, or simply want to improve the local environment you live in.
For whatever reason, we would love to hear from you and have
you feed your ideas and experiences into the Forum

THIS IS A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME INVOLVED IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD
